Island Park

This past weekend Mark and I went to Island Park. When we stay at the cabin we always just go see the same things in Yellowstone. This trip Mark wanted to take me to places I hadn't been.

First stop, Sawtell Peak.

It was really cold

and windy on top,

but the view was amazing.

On the way down Mark spotted a moose.

I wanted to give it some of the muffin that we were eating for breakfast, but Mark said no because it would probably want some jam.

Next, we went to Quake Lake. It is a lake that was formed from a landslide triggered by an earthquake in 1959. The earthquake measured 7.5 and killed 28 people. We were amazed that over 50 years later you could still see the trees standing in the middle of the lake where there used to be campgrounds.

Outside those windows is where the slide happened.

Here is a view from the outside.

26 Weeks

We went up to Island Park and Yellowstone this weekend. We were testing out a camera so there is an abundance of photos. I will post more on that later, but here is a belly picture for week 26.

It's about time.

Mark and I are having a baby and it is a girl!
Baby Girl Fitch is due to arrive the beginning of October.

I am 24 weeks and getting bigger everyday. Unfortunately with how sick I was for the first 18 weeks we didn't take any pictures of my "progressing" belly, frankly it kept getting smaller and my face became more and more green and hollow. So when we officially announced it to everyone on Mother's Day (at 20 weeks) we took a legitimate belly picture when I finally had a legitimate looking belly.

We haven't taken a belly picture since, so don't expect much as far as updates go. Baby Girl Fitch is a very active little woman and started punching and kicking at 17 weeks. We will see if this continues after she is born. We are already head over heels for this tiny nugget and can't wait for the two of us to become a family of three.

Some Bunny Loves Me

It has been a week since Easter, and I never realized how much my life could change with one little difference. Both Mark and I received gifts for Easter. Mark got a shop vac, which he loves, but we are both reaping the rewards from mine. Mark installed the most beautiful white dishwasher. It took a little kitchen renovation, but it is all worth it if the dishes can be washed while I sleep. Definitely one of the best Easter present ever.

The blue stripes are just protective film.
The dishwasher is plain white.

Mom always said, "Be careful what you wish for!"

Over the weekend we had a terrible windstorm. I woke up to a noise and thought maybe a piece of tin from the garage had ended up in our front yard. I told Mark to look and see. His eyes were still blurry but eventually saw this.

Mark and I had actually discussed cutting that tree down a few days before. I guess someone was listening. We were just so grateful that the wind was blowing that direction because we could have easily had a tree on our house. We feel blessed and watched over.

Thankfully Mark's sweet parents came over later with the chainsaw to help clean up our lawn. Now we have to figure out how to get rid of that stump.
