Harrison's Caves

Mark and I were able to go on a tour of Harrison's Caves in Barbados. It was a really neat experience and we learned a lot. Our tour guide said that if you can't remember whether it is a stalactite or a stalagmite then remember this saying: A stalactite must hold "tite" to the ceiling, and a stalagmite just "mite" form on the ground. I thought this was a helpful saying.

This collection was called "The Village"

Water was dripping from the ceiling so we got a little wet.

This was the "emergency exit."
There was a boat next to the water and a ladder across the way.
The tour guide was quick to tell us that they have never needed to use it.

We really enjoyed the tour and were grateful to get out of the heat for a little.

The last time I was in the ocean. . .

I was either 4 or 5, I can't remember. Mark was really excited to get me in the ocean. He wanted to make sure we had proof I actually got wet.

I was nervous that I was going to get hit by a big wave while Mark was taking a picture.
I had seen enough old man bum to know that it was a real concern.

Mark and I went sailing on one of those boats
the second day we were there and had a really nice time.

The last day Mark convinced me to try body boarding.
At first I was very skeptical, but I caught on pretty quick.

Graduation Presents

The past four months have been very hectic, noted by my lack of blogging. November 18th was my last day of student teaching and thus my last day of school! It is such a great feeling to finally be done.  Although I haven't officially graduated, Mark gave me my presents early.

1. An iPad 2.

For the last few months our date nights consisted of dinner and a stop at Best Buy to play angry birds on the iPads on display. We finally decided we should get our own.

2. A week trip to Barbados (More posts to follow)

The main push for buying our iPad was actually to have for our trip. We had such a fun time and experienced a little shock landing in Salt Lake with a t-shirt and flip-flops.

Henry Ryan Terry

I went to Colorado for two weeks in August to see
the newest (at the time) addition to the Olson grandbabies:
Henry Ryan Terry

Olivia and I spent a lot of time together, but I stole any chance to hold Hank I could.
Here are just a few of my favorites from the trip.

Cold Ham Water
(Her version of hot ham water)

Enjoying our daily dose of T&J

Showing off her awesome stitches
(Can you believe those eyelashes!?)

 "The Hurricane"

 Playing with Grandma's fabric

I had so much fun and was reluctant to come back to the real world.
Now I am just wishing I could go to Princeton for two weeks.
